Giving Back

                            Stewardship

We care more about you than your money, but it costs to have a functioning church building and ministries. Part of being a strong and spiritually mature walk with Christ is giving back. Whether that is through time, financially, material donations, etc. As Christians we believe that everything we own belongs to God.

Tithe:

Usually Christians give a minimum of 10% of their financial earnings every month in support of the ministry at their church.

" “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint and dill and cumin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faithfulness. These you ought to have done, without neglecting the others (Matt. 23:23 ESV). " Money isn't the starting point, the ending point, or the only point in discipleship. Yet giving a tithe and offerings is a point of faith. Giving back to the church shows a personal acknowledgement that we are aware of God's blessing, God's grace, and God's desire for us to serve.

Offering:

If you feel like giving to a specific cause, ministry, offerings are donations that are not specified as Tithe.

" There was not a needy person among them, for as many as were owners of lands or houses sold them and brought the proceeds of what was sold and laid it at the apostles' feet, and it was distributed to each as any had need (Acts 4:34-35 ESV). "

The early Christian church did not focus on simply giving their 10%. They gave whatever they could. As Christians today we live in a material world and it can sometimes be hard to quantify financial giving. What you give helps support the mission and ministries not only of the Bass Memorial Academy Church, but Bass Memorial Academy, the Gulf States Conference and the world church.
